Big Apple Cont...

The kids loved the city. James' first words when he woke up Saturday morning was, "choo-choo mommy?". Yep, James loved the subways. He was adamant that each time he sat by himself, and once he was seated he was silent and just stared, a perfect imitation of a true business man.

On Saturday we met up with some friends from St. George, Rachel and Nate. They have lived in Manhattan for over a year and had all of the expertise on showing us around. They helped us find the right subways, the perfect places to eat, and had great knowledge on the best places to live, if Carter does an internship there. We LOVED spending the day with them. It was good to feel some St. George love again.

Here are some of the places we were able to see.

Central Park

The LDS temple.

The hotel Carter and I have both stayed in before.

Times Square

Thank you Rach and Nate. Our kids adore you! Hopefully we will meet up again soon. Macey's Day Parade?

Off to the BIG APPLE!!!

Ever since we found out that we were accpeted to Cornell Carter and I have been fantasizing about traveling the east coast. Our first stop? New York City! The drive from our house is four hours (to Jersey City, where our hotel was). We left Friday morning and came back Saturday night. It was the PERFECT weekend getaway. This is why...

1. I found my new favorite lunch spot. Panera Bread- salads and soups- delish

2. Our hotel was in the perfect location. Right by the PATH which took us straight to the World Trade Center.

3. Carter was able to finally able to see WALL STREET!

4. We were able to do a little shopping.

Carter the Chef

Who knew?!?

Carter has been busy, busy, busy. But, to my surprise he still finds the time to let me have Much needed breaks. I was shocked that this is what he came up with for dinner one night. He was then nominated to cook every night...once we are done with school.

From the beginning.

To finally lift this burden off my shoulders I will just start from where I left off.

Carter interviewed with Guthrie, a hospital in Sayre PA, a few weeks ago. We all went down together, the long one hour drive, and got to experience PA as a family. The hospital was beautiful and the town was small. It was fun trying to entertain the kids while Carter was in interviews. We ended up watching some ducks swim in a pond, and later found the hospital cafeteria and ate some fabulous hospital mashed potatoes.

Finally...I'm doing it

I have now entered the blogging world. Any advice? We'll see where this takes us.

For all of the grandparents of James and Katie, this is for you.
